Ollie Kearney is a multi-disciplinary artist exploring experimental paintings that use methods such as mark-making and screenprinting. They have exhibited their work at their solo exhibition Pursuit of an Archetype, at the MoMA as part of Steve Cannon’s private collection, and the SingleFare4 show at Highline Stages; all in New York City. Their work examines intimacy and privacy through the lens of sexual subjects across the 1800s-1900s by abstracting sourced images from artists such as Robert Mapplethorpe and relating the material to their own queerness. Their work also deals with contemporary appropriation and the idea that nothing can be truly “original.” They are currently pursuing a BFA in General Fine Arts at the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon.
